Wear the colour of leaves on your eyes
When it comes to a new season, one post I look forward to compiling together is the beauty edit! Not only does it give myself ideas on what I can create in one look for the season, but it's sooo satisfying to see the prettiest colour palette together.
And the best thing is, you can trust my recommendations because they're all my holy grail favourites - even the palette that I've only had for a month haha.
What's been going on Fran??
It's a new season and there's a lot more things to talk about that I've been loving for the past month or so. I've done this sort of post before and it's kinda like a favourites but not... Like I said ages ago, I wanted to do more casual personal posts - and this is mainly because it's what I love reading from my faves. Ayy ayy Hannah Gale and numerous others...
Three reads for cosy evenings
Now that we can fully immerse ourselves into the season of Autumn, there's one thing that I LOVE doing above all else at this time of year. If it's a dark day, in the afternoon I'll cover myself with a throw, put on the fire, make a coffee and maybe even have a biscuit and settle down for an hour or so with a book. The tv will be on but I keep it on low just for background noise and then it's an afternoon of bliss.
I thought I would put three favourite books in one post to get you inspired to do this yourself as I've done it with all three. And even though I'm halfway through
Autumn, Smith is one of my favourite authors so I had to include her book in a post asap...
The Get Cosy Season
Autumn is one of my ALL TIME favourite seasons. I mean fyi if you didn't know that already from the numerous times I've mentioned it here, on twitter and on instagram lmao. And I love doing all the things you can do in this time of year - PLUS it means we're just a bit closer to Christmas yaaaay.
I do this post every year, but I never fail to get excited to write this one to welcome it in. Because list posts get me pumped and also give me inspiration to make the most of this magical time of year...
The solution to sweet lavender dreams
Ok, seeing as I consider myself (a.) a hardcore lushie and (b.) I've used this numerous times myself, I thought I would put my own opinion out there on this celebrated lotion. After seeing the hype online and in store, it was making me wonder why all of a sudden people care about this product. Ok, it's from Lush (between you and me - the best cosmetics company out there) and it's named Sleepy. So, it should give a little clue...
Amazing friends and good fries
So last week, me and a few friends FINALLY got together after so long and headed over to Meat & Shake. Situated in Tooting Bec, it was pretty easy to get to via the Northern Line and the initial aesthetics did not disappoint. Based on a Southern American diner, you can get any kind of burger, shake, fries and they even do chicken ooooh.
Baths and burgers galore
This week, like any other week to be honest, has FLOWN BY! I got to meet up with friends, take time to self care and in between all that - go to work...
Seeing as my last FGT did so well, I thought I would throw another one out there today instead of my usual Sunday post. I just really want to change up my blog a bit and I've got some exciting posts coming soon!
Soooo, without further ado, read on guys to see what made my week...
Getting in the autumnal fashion spirit
Autumn is nigh my friends! (In precisely a week omg) and what better time than to throw out a huge primark haul full of amazing Autumn fashion! I popped into one of my local stores the other week and got a bit spendy - as you do in any Primark. Let's be real guys.
Soundtrack to the month...
Let's be real, there's nothing like a fresh month and fresh wave of becoming obsessed with old favourites and new discoveries. i.e. playing songs ten times a day every day for the next month... If you love that feeling too, then I've got some tunes that you will LOVE entering the realm of your ears!
Aaaaand you can bet I've been listening to these while I've been doing my makeup, on the bus to work and even before going to bed. So, take my word for it that they're perfect for pumping you up for Autumn!
Satisfying your lemony needs
Seriously guys, I feel like I'm on a roll with these baking posts... I did a
cookie recipe last week, and here I am with another easy recipe from Tanya Burr's
Tanya Bakes - because let's be real, it's the only baking book you need for EVERY RECIPE EVER.
It was my parent's anniversary on the Thursday so I decided to treat them by making this Pistachio and Lemon Curd cake. Becaaauseee (1.) my dad loves lemon and (2.) It sounded so nice by chucking in a whole load of pistachios in there. If you love these nuts and lemon then you'll be all over this. It was eaten in two nights between the three of us, so if you want to make this for yourself and your family for equal success, then read on...
Pumpkin Spice Sundays
Now this isn't a pic of a PSL BUUUT you can bet that I for sure am having another of these autumnal delights this weekend... Also, pretty pastel houses in Notting Hill? Yes please! (FYI I'm painting my future house pink!)
But guess what!? This week I've finally had time to read some blog posts and compile a little list of all the ones I think you guys will love. So if it's feeling like Autumn outside whether it's sunny or raining, cosy up in a jumper and read on...
Sticking to your faves
I've been an avid beauty lover since I first was immersed into the world of applying products to your face in 2014. Since then, there's been many a successful trips to Boots and disappointing experiences. From this, I've managed to discover holy grails and products that I swear by - and not want to go out and spend £70 on more products hitting the counters.
Looks like Christmas came early...
Heelloooo readers! I'm coming at you with a photo heavy post of yesterday's Lush Creative Showcase! I went to
last year's event, and this year I KNEW I had to go again! I get all the amazing feels that you get from going to see a fave in a concert, and I just felt so lucky that I could go...
I went along with Vicky aka
vvnightingale whom you all will know from her bright pastel branding and flower crown selfies. We had so much fun (as you will see) looking at the new naked products, amazing colourful and beautifully smelling exhibitions?? AAAND *dun dun duuun* the Christmas and Halloween shop! It felt like December 25th really came a few months early and I couldn't have been more ready.
The hygge season is nigh
This week September arrived and my heart sang... There was a lot to celebrate seeing as I now have an excuse to get excited for the spooky season and the fact that the colder weather is coming. (But more on that in another post)
Here's another five good things post on what I loved about the week - because in truth I've been sooo bad in reading blog posts that it would be wrong of me to rush read some for today. Plus, I'm growing to do this diary style sort of post....
Cosy happy baking
It's the first of September wooo! You probably have an idea of how excited I am for Autumn to come (if you've seen the rants
on my twitter haha - hint hint go follow me) And what better than to start welcoming the season by doing some baking...
These milk and white choc cookies are the epitome of cosy baking - in my opinion anyway - because they're SOO easy to make, take no time at all and at the same time you can have a nice natter with a friend. You can also chuck in any type of chocolate but we all know Cadbury dairy milk and Milky Bar are the best.
